Pullikkaran Staraa: Five reasons to watch the Mammootty - Syam Dhar movie

After the crime thriller 'Seventh Day' starring Prithviraj, director Syam Dhar is ready with his next film 'Pullikkaran Staraa,' which has Mammootty, Asha Sharath and Deepti Sati in the lead. After playing the stylish yet doting dad in the movie 'The Great Father,' Mammootty dons a semi-naadan role in the movie, an avatar that his fans have always loved. But there are many more reasons to save the date for this comedy flick. Read on!
1) Mammootty as an Idukkikaran
Every time he has played a character with a 'high range' flavour, Mammootty has excelled at it, for instance, like in the film 'Loud Speaker.' In 'Pullikkaran Staraa,' he plays Rajakumaran, who comes to Kochi as an instructor in the teacher's training institute. Will he repeat the magic of the memorable character for 'Loud Speaker?' We can't wait to see it!
2) M Jayachandran's songs
The jukebox of the film, consisting of 4 songs composed by M Jayachandran, has already become a favourite - be it on the small screen, online or in the radio. Especially the 'Tapp Tapp' song sung by the little nightingale Shreya Jayadeep, 'Oru Kaavalam Painkili' by Vijay Yesudas and 'Kilivaathilin' by Anne Amie. Now, which song will walk away with the most favourite trophy? We have to watch the film to learn that.
3) Asha Sharath teams up with the megastar again
It's in 2014 that we saw Asha Sharath working for the first and last time with Mammootty. They excelled as a grief-stricken couple, who lost their only son to cardiac arrest. Yet again, the terrific duo is back on screen with 'Pullikkaran Staraa.' Asha plays the role of a teacher named Manjari, in the film.
4) Most Desirable Deepti Sati is back!
Miss Kerala 2012, Deepti Sati, debuted in Malayalam through the Lal Jose film 'Nee-Na' in 2015. After having her share of movies in other South languages, Deepti is back in Malayalam. The fans of the pretty girl, who bagged the Most Desirable title of Kochi Times year before the last, is thrilled that the tomboyish Neena is back in a different avatar this time. She plays a character named Manjima.
5) Gopi Sunder's addictive BGMs
Every music lover of Malayalam knows how Gopy Sunder's BGMs can sometimes even belittle the whole of the film's soundtrack, with their sheer brilliance. If he lives up to his reputation, we can definitely look forward to some memorable BGMs too in this film. We can't wait to check out the intro score of Mammootty's character in the film!

Prithviraj on why "Tiyaan" didn't click

Not every actor would admit one of his films was a failure, or that he is responsible for it. But Prithviraj has never shied away from it, and has analysed his films objectively, on more than one occasion. The actor has now done the same with his film Tiyaan, which, he says, probably lacked clarity. The film failed to connect with the audience, and the makers were responsible for it, he admitted. Expectations were sky high for Tiyaan, supposedly a magnum opus, and the film was made in a grand scale. Prithviraj is currently awaiting the release of his next, Adam Joan, and has started work on Detroit Crossing.

The gang also has an adversary in former schoolmate Joy, who belittles them at every turn. One of their plans to avenge and outdo Joy becomes a launchpad for Giri to shine. But will they succeed? Thrissivaperoor Kliptham REVIEW: From the very first audio byte and visuals of Thrissivaperoor Kliptham, debutant director Ratheish Kumar makes it clear the kind of jokes the movie will have and that it will be a proper entertainer, without any experimental gimmicks. Thrissur and its people are the heart of the film, and for the major part of first half Ratheish introduces the characters – one by one – along with highlighting their virtues and vices. Chemban Vinod’s David Pauly is the first to be introduced – a middle-aged macho man whose alcoholism has got his family so worried that they force...
